Entrepreneur, founding CEO of LEAD Academy (NGO), coaching and advising on leadership in a digital, accelerated and globalized world.
Tobias Leipprand is a serial social entrepreneur. He is the founding CEO of LEAD Academy, a non-profit organization that offers executive education to leaders from the non-profit sector, the private sector and government. Through LEAD’s consulting branch LEAD Mindsets & Capabilities Tobias provides consulting services in the area of leadership.
Prior to his position at LEAD, he helped build Stiftung Neue Verantwortung, a Berlin-based non-profit, independent think-tank, and served as member of its executive board. There, he researched contemporary leadership as well as sustainability in the context of urban planning. He also ran the organization’s leadership program for its 100 associates. Before joining Stiftung Neue Verantwortung, Tobias worked as a strategy consultant at McKinsey & Company focusing his consulting work on large-scale change and capacity building programs.
Tobias holds a master’s degree in theoretical physics from Cambridge University, UK, and a Master in Public Policy from the Harvard Kennedy School, where he was a McCloy Scholar. Before his studies he took a gap year working for a charity NGO in Guatemala. In 2010/11 he was a Global Governance 2020 Fellow. He teaches applied leadership at CEU’s School of Public Policy within their Skills for Impact program. Tobias writes on topics of contemporary leadership, and his commentary has appeared in German and international newspapers. He has recently reached a wide audience co-hosting several TEDx events in Berlin with up to 1,200 guests. Tobias is a member of the advisory board of the Executive MBA “Leadership and Human Resources” at Quadriga University of Applied Sciences Berlin. Following his belief that a more balanced life leads to better decision-making he practices and teaches yoga.
